Situated in California's Coachella Valley, Sun City Palm Desert lies at the heart of the Palm Springs Desert Resorts area, approximately 20 miles east of the city of Palm Springs. The community is located north of Interstate 10 at Washington Street.
Designed by Billy Casper and Greg Nash, the 36-hole, par 72 championship golf courses will play approximately 6,700 yards and includes multiple tee placements accommodating many skill levels.
Residents enjoy discounted green fees and no initiation or transfer fees.
There are two Recreation Centers and clubhouses, one for each 18 hole course. The centers include an approximate 62,000-square-foot facility, a 30,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, featuring over 80 clubs and activities, indoor pools, billiards, library, and restaurants.

Every year, more than 3 million travelers visit the Valley, making it one of America's premier vacation destinations.
Major attractions include the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Oasis Water Resort, the Living Desert, the Indian Canyons, and the Empire and Eldorado Polo Clubs.

There are also man cultural and performing arts facilities in the area, including the McCallum Theatre for the Performing Arts and the Palm Springs Desert Museum.

Macy's, Robinson's May Company, and J.C. Penney, are all housed within the enclosed Town Center Mall, eight miles southwest of Sun City Palm Desert.
Less than eight miles south of Sun City Palm Desert is the "Rodeo Drive" of the desert - El Paseo. Unique shops, sidewalk cafes, and four-star restaurants line both sides of the picturesque boulevard. The Gardens on El Paseo includes Saks Fifth Avenue and many specialty shops.
Costco and Home Depot are approximately six miles west of Sun City Palm Desert.
Covering nearly 1,600 acres, Sun City Palm Desert is Del Webb's first private gated, master-planned, active adult community for persons age 55 and better. Plans are for approximately 5,000 detached and attached single-family residential units. Population is projected to include 10,000 residents upon completion of the community.
The master-planned community will feature approximately 67 acres dedicated to commercial use outside the gates at the development's southern end, with planned access from inside the community.

Kaiser Permanente is providing service to members in the Coachella Valley as of February 1, 1997, through the Desert Medical Group and Oasis Medical Group. Desert Hospital, site of Coachella Valley's trauma center, is in Pa m Springs, approximately 20 miles from Sun City Palm Desert.

JFK Memorial Hospital is approximately 8 miles southeast of Sun City Palm Desert, in the city of Indio. This private facility offers twenty-four hour emergency care, and is staffed by over 92 physicians who represent all major medical specialties. New JFK Medical Offices are located less than 2 miles from Sun City Palm Desert on Washington.
Palm Springs Airport is 15 miles from Sun City Palm Desert. This airport is served by major commercial carriers, including Alaska, American, Northwest, Delta, United, and others. Ontario International Airport, a p proximately 85 miles away, is easily accessed by Interstate 10. Los Angeles International Airport, 150 miles to the west, provides direct worldwide air service.
